If you’re a skin junkie there’s no doubt you’ve seen this image of Kim Kardashian undergoing what now has become the buzz treatment tagged the Vampire Facial (the technical term being Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Treatment)!
Gruesome looking, yes, but those with a passion for dermal and facial treatments for skin health will find the science of this advanced treatment fascinating. Your own blood (in the form of Platelet rich plasma) is used to rejuvenate facial tissue and help bring back the youthful appearance of your face.
In our new Advanced Diploma of Dermal Science & Therapies 10167NAT program students get to learn in a workshop from the experts about performing the Autologuous Conditioning (Factor4) treatment!
We give you all the facts on this advanced dermal procedure….
The Procedure:
A Vampire Facial is skin rejuvenation using autologous treatments where a patient’s own blood is processed to harness its healing and rejuvenating capacities.
Method:
Skin needling using the MDerma Fractional Dermal-needling system is used in conjunction with FACTOR4.
FACTOR4 is generated by encapsulating venous patient blood in technologically advanced tubing and then the drawn blood is incubated for between 6 and 9 hours exposing the blood to pyrogenic free surfaces eliciting a vigorous and rapid increase in the synthesis of growth factors. Following centrifugation, serum extraction and filtration the serum is portioned and stored in a freezer at -18°C. This serum is then needled into the skin stimulating collagen to treat an ageing skin
Treatment Areas:
The most common areas treated are the face, neck, décolletage and back of hands
