Whether your students are ready to leave high school or are wanting to undertake a beauty course as part of the VET for Schools program, we have a number of suitable entry-level courses to help them take their first steps in the thriving beauty industry.
Beauty is a $500 billion dollars global industry with lucrative employment pathways. Recent data indicates that there is just 1 Beauty Therapist graduating for every 10 jobs in market* (*NCVER – Data from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research).
Vocational Education and Training is practical education that is nationally recognised and supports students to develop and apply skills and knowledge for work and their future pathway. Students can begin their beauty career while at school and it all counts towards their SACE.

Students can take their first steps into the world of beauty and cosmetic retail at The French. This qualification provides the knowledge and hands on skills to work as a retail sales consultant in the beauty industry. Students advance their employment opportunities or give themselves that head start into furthering their career and education into the world of beauty, retail and wellness.
The course is delivered over 36 weeks, one day per week and follows the South Australian secondary school term dates.
Timetabled either on a Thursday or Friday from 9am-4pm.

They are nationally accredited courses that deliver skills oriented learning designed to prepare you for a specific job.
Complete a nationally recognised vocational qualification and a South Australian secondary school certificate at the same time
Go directly into employment or receive credit towards further vocational training
Develop employability and industry-specific skills
The course is timetabled one day per week for 38 weeks and follows the South Australia Secondary school term. Class hours are 9am-4:00pm either Thursday or Friday. SACE Credits Stage 1 75 SACE Credits 655 nominal hours
Successful completion of the Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics contributes towards 75 SACE points.

Encompassing the foundational and fundamental components of makeup artistry, our Introduction SHBBMUP009 Design and Apply Makeup & SIRXIND003 Organise personal work requirements course has been specifically designed for aspiring makeup artists.
We understand beauty is a hands-on profession and your study at The French is no different! From day one you’ll be immersed in a simulated salon environment, where you will learn and hone your skills on real clients and practice what it means to be a working makeup professional!.
Timetabled 1 day a week over 10 weeks. 9am-4pm on Thursdays.

Look and Learn Style Beauty Tutorials presented by French Student Advisors
The French has developed a series of look and learn beauty tutorials specifically designed to educate students on skincare, presentation as well as basic career preparation tips, that we are able to deliver directly to your students in school.
From dealing with teenage skin through to natural foundation matching and dressing to impress for interviews, these tutorials are suitable not just for students interested in a career in beauty.
They are offered free of charge and can be coordinated to help fill a gap in your teaching or careers information schedule.
