Be sure to research the salons and spas you would like to work in prior to applying. It’s important to know really understand your prospective workplace and that it also meets your individual standards as a therapist.
A well-presented, professional resume and cover letter will ensure your resume stands out from other applicants. Remember to only include relevant information to support the position you are applying for.
An immaculate and polished appearance with attention to detail is a must – ‘dress to impress’!
Ensure you have clean pulled back hair in a sophisticated up-style, short nude nails, minimal jewellery, flawless day make-up and polished shoes.
A heartfelt warm smile that generates positive energy. Ensure posture is strong with open body language. Make sure you shake hands confidently and firmly.
Be sure to use confident and clearly spoken professional language. Refrain from swearing or using slang at all times.
A positive, can-do attitude is the most important trait you can take to the interview. 9 out of 10 employers say that attitude is the most important quality they look for in a therapist!
Ensure you follow up on your application, this portrays enthusiasm and commitment to the position.
Lastly, do not give up. If you don’t successfully secure your dream job in the first instance, keep believing there will be a better suited position on the horizon.
